Scenario Description
After hernia reduction, meticulous suturing of the esophageal hiatus in the diaphragm is performed. Continuous or individual non-absorbable sutures are used, depending on the surgeon’s preference and case specifics. The goal is a permanent closure of the hiatus to prevent the migration of abdominal structures into the thorax.
Instructions
Place 3 simple interrupted sutures on the diaphragm to bring its edges together.
