Scenario Description
Variable anatomy often adds complexity to surgical procedures. In this exercise, the trainee must dissect the entire area to properly identify the interwoven vessels. Damage must be avoided, and the lower ducts should remain intact, while the upper vessels are carefully ligated and cut.
Instructions
- Use the dissector to carefully remove the top layer of tissue.
- Dissect the crossing vessels.
- Place two ligatures on each side of the two vessels closest to the surface, avoiding damage to the third, deeper vessel.
- After ligating the vessels, cut them.
Preparation
 Training module
- Prepare the Dissection 3-in-1 Training Module and the Vessel Dissection Exchangeable Module.
- Loosen the blue screws enough to insert the silicone module between the clamps.
- Position the module in the center between the clamps—ensure the internal vessels form an inverted “T” shape (compare with the image below).
- Grip the silicone module with the middle clip and gently stretch it by pulling both to the right and left.
- While maintaining the tension, tighten all screws on both clamps.
  Training module position
Place the module in the training area in the middle position.
📌 Accessories
- Prepare two sutures, each 15 cm long.
- Do not place them inside the trainer—they should remain outside and be introduced through the trocar as instructed.
 Instruments
Prepare 5 mm instruments: grasper and dissector.
 Instrument ports
Use the 2nd and 9th instrument ports.
Keep your attention
Ultimately, you are the best judge of your training experience. Take a moment to reflect and ask yourself if you’ve met the criteria outlined below.
The vessels are carefully dissected and identified.Â
The surgical knots is correctly placed and stays securely on the vessel.
Duration of training is about 15 min.
